The Emed-X apparatus being used at FORMED is a measuring platform with high sensitivity originating from 4 sensors per cm2. So a detailed map for pressure distribution can be generated. The deviations from average and patient characteristics collected in a database contribute to evidence based and scientific solutions. Especially, this mearsurement is of paramount importance in patients with diabetes since small pressure distribution disturbances may lead to ulsers that sometimes have grave concequences such as amputations.

Foot pressure distribution measurement can be carried out part of the evaluation of foot or as a laboratory procedure ordered by any physician (orthopaedic surgeons, physical medicine and rehabilitaiton specialists, endokrinologists, and dermatologists) responsible for the management of foot disorders.
